The Associate of Science Health Information Management (Medical Coding & Billing)

The Associate of Science Degree Health Information Management (Medical Coding & Billing) is a program which is aimed to strengthen the skills of students enabling them to quickly start their profession of medical coding and prepare them to gain positions as Medical Coding Specialists, Medical Records Technicians, or other identical positions within the Health Information Management area. To prepare students for the Certified Coding Associate exam, enabling them to earn a widely recognized industry certification (AHIMA) is the main aim of this program.

Program Objectives

In addition to acquiring general education learning objectives, graduates from the Associate of Science Health Information Management program will be prepared to sit for examination to attain AHIMA's certified coding associate certification.
