Andover College
The Andover Institute of Business opened its doors in 1967, in Portland, Maine. In 1977 the State Board of Education approved a name change from Andover Institute to Andover College.
In 1998 Andover College was the first Maine educational institution of its type to receive accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The Lewiston campus began teaching its first class in 2004.
Andover College is considered to be a part of Kaplan Higher Education Corporation (KHE), a division of Kaplan, Inc., being established as a long and with distinguished tradition in terms of being both an academic pioneer and career-maker since the year 1938. One million students are served by Kaplan per annum across the United States and abroad, and students can also take online programs through Kaplan. Many individuals, schools, and businesses have had a longstanding relationship with Kaplan. In 2007, Kaplan's revenue topped $2 billion.
