One of the great things about the times that we live in is that we now have a lot of options in how we receive our education. In the age of the internet, no longer are our choices confined to whatever school may be within our driving radius.
Online education has used technology to push the boundaries of education delivery systems. The result has been unimaginable access to education and training courses. With so many choices available, it’s important to decide if online training is for you.
Here are some things to consider:
- If it has been a long time since you’ve even been in a classroom, an online course may be a little intimidating.
- Do you work best interacting with others and participating in live discussions?
- How comfortable are you with a computer, using a variety of programs?
- Do you have high-speed internet access?
- Do you have the discipline to structure and complete your own work?
Online training opens up a whole new world for you. If your local educational facilities do not offer the training you need, or if your transportation options are limited to get back and forth to classes, then online training may be your only viable option.
When you are considering enrolling in an online course, take the time to contact the school and talk with someone about the specific requirements for enrolling. Discuss any concerns you have and make sure your computer will be able to handle any software requirements the school may have for the course.
Online education can be a great way to go if you do your homework!
