Move up from your RN to a BSN

July 30, 2009

If you’ve already become a licensed nurse then you may be interested in expanding your career opportunities.  Even thought there are a myriad of fields that an RN can enter, becoming a nurse with a Bachelor’s degree (BSN) opens up quite a few more doors for you.

Becoming a BSN is probably easier than you think.  On line courses are available and that usually means being able to work your school schedule around your work schedule.  The online BSN programs on our site specialize in helping RNs to achieve their higher learning goals.  It’s worth a moment or two to check them out and send for some free information.

BSNs tend to work in the higher fields of nursing.  They often hold supervisory positions or they become nurse educators at hospitals and clinics.  BSNs also tend to be active in the areas of clinical research.  Many BSNs go on to achieve their dream of independent patient care by becoming Nurse Practitioners.  Regardless of the field that a BSN chooses, they know that they can command greater respect from their peers and the medical community.  They also know that they can ask for and receive a salary commensurate with their education and expertise.
