Embarking on a new career by attending quality training is not free. The costs of education rise every year and most folks don’t have the spare money laying around to put towards their education. Fortunately, there are plenty of resources to help you along the way.
So where do you get the money?
First, it depends on whether you’re attending a vocational type training school or a degreed college. if you’re attending vocational school, first check with the school to see what options they have available. Many of the larger schools have an in house financial aid person who can answer all of your questions.
If you are attending a college, your very first stop should be to see a financial aid counselor. In addition to advising you of your options, they can also help you on the way to completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) The FAFSA gets you started on finding out what you qualify for in terms of Student loans and grants. It’s important to do this. You’ll probably be surprised by the types of aid you are qualified for.
Be sure to check back often. Future posts will discuss money sources such as Pell Grants and other options for financing your education.
