Dental Assistant: Diploma

The Dental Assistant Diploma program trains students in techniques as diverse as taking dental x-rays and impressions to using dental instruments. Prepare for a Dental Assisting Career

Get the skills you need to have a successful career in Dental Assisting. Dental assistants help dentists with patient care, office and lab duties. Some tasks required may include:

• Using suction and other devices to keep the patient's mouth dry and clear of saliva and debris
• Keeping patients comfortable in the dental chair and explaining postoperative as well as general oral health care to them
• Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, preparing the instrument trays, and assisting the dentist by handing him/her instruments and materials during dental procedures
• Taking dental x-rays and making dental impressions

Becoming certified demonstrates that you have met established industry standards set by professional boards or goverment agencies with your education and/or on the job experience.
