The basics of dental assisting form the foundation of the program. Oral structures, diet therapy and disease transmissions are some of the areas that are covered. Then the fundamentals of chairside assistance will be mastered. You will learn to properly handle dental equipment and tools, and to do patient procedures as well as to sterilize and disinfect.

Skills in dental radiography, such as film processing, interpretation, and analysis will also be acquired by you. The program is wrapped up with some training in office procedures. Some of the skills you will attain include dealing with emergencies, scheduling appointments, and handling patient files and inventories. A 10 week intern program will be the perfect place to utilize all of the information and skills you have learned.
