Accreditation is voluntary, and distinguishes educational programs and/or institutions for their achievement and for maintaining a certain level of quality, performance, and integrity that meets high, meaningful standards. A learning facility that desires accreditation performs a thorough and intensive examination of the standards of its instruction, administration, coursework, student services, and staff ability and relationships with employers. The program can only be accredited after an on-site visit is performed and a review is done that verifies that the school/program institution meets or exceeds all the standards set forth.
