Accreditation is voluntary, and distinguishes educational programs and/or institutions for their achievement and for maintaining a certain level of quality, performance, and integrity that meets high, meaningful standards. Therapeutic Massage Training Program
This Program prepares students in becoming successful practicing body workers. The curriculum meets and exceeds licensing standards set by a majority of state and municipal governments.
The Therapeutic Message Training Program instructs the art and science of massage therapy, and also provides solid employment training which readies students for arrival in the trade market.
In order to truly treat specific pain and dysfunction, students should learn Eastern and Western theory and technique for a truly holistic approach to healing.
Students receive a basis in massage theory and technique. Acupressure and shiatsu are included when students are taught an Eastern paradigm of body therapies. Apart from traditional techniques many contemporary therapies like trigger point therapy, cranial sacral therapy, rehabilitation massage, sports massage and structural body work are also taught to students.
In order for students to have a strong scientific understanding of the body and the ability to communicate with other health care professionals Florida College of Natural Health teaches Anatomy and Physiology. Students at Florida College of Natural Health experience success in the market because of their thorough training in the skills of bodywork.
The objectives of the program are to prepare students for licensure as a Licensed Massage Therapist through the Florida State Board/National Certification Exam. Entry-level massage therapist employment would be the first step graduates take after upon licensure.
Associate of Science degree program
Concentration in Advanced Therapeutic Massage
Training time frame is 24 months.
This is an advanced program developing a multidisciplinary approach to body work preparing students to holistically practice massage therapy in variety of therapeutic environments in the industry. The complete Therapeutic Massage Training Program is included with this program. Modality specific assessments test the students’ knowledge, effectiveness, clinical analysis, intuition as well as application in many areas, such as Myokinetic techniques, Hydrotherapy, spa treatments, sports injury management, and protocols of rehabilitation.
The objective of this program is to prepared students to become Licensed Massage Therapists under the Florida State Board/National Certification Exam. The program provides students with massage theory and techniques beyond entry level.
Associate of Science in Natural Health: Concentration in Therapeutic Massage and Skin Care
Our 16 month program offers students training in both massage therapy and skin care. Our Therapeutic Massage Training Program will train students in the delicate science of massage therapy, while at the same time also ensuring that students develop savvy business skills for the marketplace. The Skin Care Training Program has a comprehensive training approach to skin care
The program objectives are to offer students the course offerings, knowledge base and required hours to sit for and pass the Florida state licensing exams in the fields of massage therapy and skin care and to train students to be proficient in providing services as the entry level Registered Facial Specialist and Licensed Massage Therapist. Dually skilled individuals, qualified to pursue job opportunities in the spa industry that require the ability to practice in both fields, obtain their knowledge and understanding of both t-theory and hands-on techniques in each field.
