Nursing Schools

Associate Degree in Nursing

This program can be completed in 7 academic quarters. Students who complete this program learn the required scholastic, clinical, and professional skills necessary to begin their careers as staff nurses. Nurses in these positions may work in a variety of health care settings, administering care to individuals, families and even communities. Students examine the body and all its functions. Upon doing so they become familiar with massage techniques and therapeutic skills. These techniques include specialized massage such as that used in sports massage, therapeutic massage, neuromuscular therapy and kinesiology. Upon completion students are able to begin entry-level work in the massage career positions and are able to pursue national certification and they will have gained skills for client-therapist relations, communication, and promotion while earning their all-inclusive degree.

The Certificate Programs

Therapeutic Massage Practitioner provides the needed skills for application and treatment goals of muscular and general relaxation, pain management, stress reduction, health promotion, recovery from injury, body awareness and education. To be successful in this program, the practitioner must be proficient at more than a simple “massage”. He or she must fully understand the body and its functions, master a variety of techniques, and perfect such skills as client assessment, communication, and self-evaluation. Students completing the program are able to transfer all credits earned toward the Associate of Applied Science degree program in Therapeutic and Clinical Massage.

The curriculum covers all aspects of prevention measures and health care of animals including lab tests, radiology procedures and counseling for the care of sick animals. On-site kennels help students gain real life experience. The facilities and equipment that are provided for student use include a surgical prep area, radiology room, IDEXX blood work equipment and management software specifically for the practice of veterinary medicine.

Graduates are well trained to sit for the state board exam which is essential to become Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT). RVTs are required to do clinical work under the supervision of a veterinarian and their job includes giving injections, taking x-rays, anesthetizing patients, offering post-operative care, cleaning teeth and much more.

Veterinary Technology (Completion time: 6 qtrs)

This program is designed to make the students ready for working as a Veterinary Technician. Under the watchful eye of a veterinarian, the technician will perform various clinical tasks in a private setting, including, but not limited to providing anesthesia to animals, taking their x-rays, providing care to the animals after surgery, giving shots to animals, and cleaning the animals' teeth. This program offers a constantly updated curriculum including general studies, the fundamentals of science and math as well as both clinical and technical training. The objective of this program is to offer students in the area of academic, prodfessional, and clinical techniques required for them to take up an entry level position for Medical Laboratory Technician.

Students will learn not just the principles and regulations for the quality assurance, accuracy, and validity of laboratory tests, but the critical and analytical thinking skills to properly employ this knowledge. Upon completion of this program you should be able to perform the many skilled tasks of a Medical Transcriptionist. As part of the healthcare team, graduates will apply professional standards and ethics as they evaluate patients, assess quality, manage laboratory results, and communicate patient information.

As a Medical Laboratory Technician you have many options for employment. Medical Laboratory Technicians generally work in hospital laboratory settings, but they can also work in specialized reference laboratories, laboratories in doctor's offices, or industrial/research laboratories, under the supervision of a Medical Technologist/Clinical laboratory professional.

Medical Reimbursement Technology - Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S)

This program teaches students what they need to know to apply coding classification systems for billing medical professional services to insurance companies, maintaining patient accounts and performing billing procedures for optimal claim reimbursement. Students will be taught to use medical office software programs in order to enter patient insurance and registration data, manage health information files, schedule appointments and submit electronic claims forms. The importance of compliance with both managed care policies and with state and federal regulations will be emphasized. Important skills required for this profession are a high degree of accuracy and a working knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and treatments. Multiple opportunities in medical coding careers exist in facilities such as physician’s offices, clinics, inpatient care, medical billing management and insurance organizations.
