Associate of Arts in Health Care Administration

Axia College of University of Phoenix offers an Associate of Arts in Health Care Administration, enabling a student to specialize himself in areas such as business, accounting, information technology, criminal justice, health care administration, human services management, communication, psychology, and paraprofessional education. A strong foundation and broad overview of academic areas including social sciences, humanities, communication arts, mathematics and life sciences are provided by the Associate of Arts curriculum. In addition to foundational competencies in the selected area, the development of students' skills in critical thinking, writing, and the utilization of information are also emphasized through the program's instruction. An Associate of Arts degree represents an important milestone in pursuing the educational goals of many students.

The focus of the Associate of Arts Degree in Health Care Administration specialization is on health care organizations, public policy, financial management, information technology, regulatory and ethical issues of health care and the roles of health care workers. Students will have the opportunity to engage in discussions of the strengths, weaknesses, and challenges facing today's U.S. health care system. A critical examination of concerns such as the current state of health and disease, the psychology of health, health care laws and ethics, and financial operations of the health care system will be undertaken by students.

Bachelor of Science in Health Administration

The Bachelor of Science in Health Administration (BSHA) program prepares graduates to accept management positions in the health care field by combining a strong foundation of general education and applied sciences with the industry-relevant expertise they need. The Bachelor of Science in Health Administration curriculum focuses on the knowledge, understanding, and skills which will be required in a career in health care administration.

Master of Health Administration

Leaders who can quickly respond to the dynamic and ever-changing health care industry are prepared by the The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program. These students will be able to examine and evaluate the issues and trends in modern healthcare and are able to make a significant impact on the global health care system. The curriculum includes instruction in such areas as economics, marketing, finance, policy, strategic planning, quality improvement, research and technology and is designed to meet the needs of the health care leader/manager.
