HIPAA Training in Michigan
In 1996, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) came into effect. It was one of the most significant changes in processing health and medical data ever. This program protects individual health information, regulates the security of electronically stored and transmitted health data, and protects and regulates personally identifiable medical information that may be used to analyze or optimize patient safety. HIPAA training in Michigan is often included as part of the curriculum for healthcare workers. Compliance is especially important, since severe violations are investigated by the government and even moderate oversights are investigated and remedied.
