Medical records technician training in Colorado is a two-year program that prepares students for employment as a medical records tech among the healthcare system. To be eligible for the two-year program, students are required to take high school math, science, including biology or anatomy, and computer courses that expose them to computer software and how to use a computer effectively for research. The two-year degree leads to an associate’s degree in medical records technology. College courses include medical terminology, medical coding, insurance billing, medical billing, healthcare computer software and health administration.
