Medical technicians perform a wide range of duties in a medical facility such as front office administration and minor patient care. Their varied skills make them a valuable member among the medical staff. Medical technicians can perform vital sign checks, administer medication and bill insurance companies. Programs are one and two years in length, and provide graduates with certificates and associate’s degrees. The medical technician occupation is expected to grow by one-third over the next decade, attributed to an aging population that requires increased patient care.
