Medical Lab Technician Programs
Laboratory technicians are often critical to determining a patient's disorder or complication. In this job, you'll learn how to perform a variety of tests to help identify abnormalities. For instance, a laboratory technician will often be called upon to analyze samples of a patient's bodily fluids and cells as a means of detecting harmful bacteria, measuring chemical content, or performing cell counts. Once these tests are complete, the technician will clearly communicate the results to the physician to facilitate an accurate diagnosis.

All these schools are accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) to ensure that students are eligible to take state and national licensing exams. These schools also assist graduates with certification, licensing, financial aid adn job placement.
1. University of Cincinnati: Online School; Bachelor's Degree

The Medical Lab Technology program at this location offer students a variety of courses and provides clinical hands-on training at local hospitals and other facilities to thoroughly prepare graduates for employment. This program receives accreditation from the NAACLS, enabling all students to receive their ASCP certification with ease. Flexibility is available in class meeting times, and some courses are available online.
IMPORTANT: While ASCP certification is voluntary, most lab technician positions will require it, so make sure your program is accredited. If not, your degree will unfortunately be worthless.
