Preparing students for their roles related to the Medical and Dental professions is the best way to describe the Medix School's purpose. The students that go to this school are believed to have already chosen their career path. Each and every course taught at the Medix School is chosen and scheduled to contribute to that goal.
Surveys on industries are conducted in order to identify what changes or modifications are needed for training to impart the best possible preparation for careers in the areas in which the institute or school intends to train and this training is based on industries which employ the graduates along with the input from our Advisory Board. The finish of many programs is a 4 week Externship in which a student can practice their skills in a real work setting. This increases their chance of being hired
Medix School bases its policies primarily by the requirements of potential employers of our graduates. A number of government agencies regulate the School, and they help determine the policies and regulations.
If students are looking for financial aid options, there may be loans or grants available to help them. Depending upon the financial need of the student, it is possible that the amount and type may be available even though every student may apply for financial assistance. Medix School uses the thorough standard form of determining the best way for student to meet their financial needs.

Living organisms and technology are used by Biotechnology to manufacture products and solve problems for improving the quality of human beings. Biotechnology uses living organisms and technology to resolve issues and create products that will imporve the quality of human life. This Biotechnician program readies individuals for beginning positions in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, research labs, government institutions or quality control environments.

Our quick training system at Medix School - South uses tangible, real-world lab experiences to give students an edge for jobs in the fast growing biotechnology area. Students learn basic laboratory operating procedures and practices, documentation, biomanufacturing, cell culture, DNA and protein analysis for employment as biological technicians, manufacturing associates, research assistants, and lab technicians.
Applicants for admission must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate, and they must also pass a standardized entrance exam. This exam is given by the school's Academic Coordinator or other staff member. If you are disabled, and need to be accomodated while taking this exam, fill out, then turn in the "Request for Accomodation" document. We are unable to guarantee accommodation-on-site if it is not requested in advance.
Applications are taken from seniors in high school who anticipate graduating. At any rate, the applicant must provide a final high school transcript, or a photcopy of his/her high school diploma, or G.E.D. before entering school.
The objective of the Medix School can only be described as the readying of individuals for entry into the workforce, by obtainig positions relevant to the Medical and Dental fields. The students who study in Medix School are thought to have choosen their career. Every course given at the Medix School are determined as well as scheduled to contribute to that goal.

EMS Training
The EMT Intermediate Program is designed to train students for a Georgia Emergency Medical Technician Certification. The bulk of the course is made up of subject matter that pertains to an introduction to emergency medical care, basic life support, obstetrics, trauma, and EMS operations, and much more; this is all based on the U.S Department of Transportation guidelines for proper EMT course curriculum. After receiving their diploma a student will be able to apply for the National Registry with their state. Passed National Registry students are up to apply for Georgia EMT numbers. After receiving their numbers, they become certified Georgia EMTs.
Admission requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent certification, and successful completion of a standardized entrance test.
This exam will be provided by the Academic Coordinator or an individual working for the staff at the school.
You must fill out the "Request for Accommodation" form to see if you meet the requirements of the examination.
Accommodations can only be granted if requested ahead of time so arrangements can be made.

The employment of those with training as medical assistants is projected to grow much faster than any other occupation through the year 2010, as the health services industry grows as a result of technological advances in medicine, and a population that is growing and aging. It is one of the most rapidly growing occupations.
Medix School Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant Training School
The main goal of the Medical Assistant program is to give student's the training to obtain excellent skills, and perform competently in a variety of medical office procedures, and lab techniques under the watchful supervision of a doctor. You will do all basic medical procedures. Front office skills will include collecting patient information, scheduling, answering phone inquiries, processing insurance claims, bookkeeping, billing, and collections, keyboarding, transcribing, word processing, and computer billing. You will build your reviews through speed, and evaluate all error control utilization. This skill and knowledge enhancement will allow the graduate, when required coursework has been completed, to continue to develop his or her career as a medical assistant by participating in an externship in a clinic, lab, physician's office, or hospital setting.
Upon completing the training satisfactorily, students will then be eligible to be employed in entry-level positions as medical assistants performing the medical procedures, laboratory techniques, and the front office duties as described above. Students will learn to understand and use Universal Precautions, OSHA Regulations, HIPAA Requirements, Confidentiality, as well as the Legal Aspects of the Allied Health environment.

A 160-hour externship is included in this degree program.
