Alberta Massage Therapy Schools.

Massage therapy schools in Alberta offer students post-secondary massage therapy programs that enable them to become massage therapists. Most programs can be completed in less than one year and average 500 hours. The learning environment is hands-on and fast-paced. Students are expected to spend hours in and outside of the classroom practicing. Licensing laws vary greatly between provinces so it is important for students to be aware of local laws and regulations. Most therapists are required to pass an exam. Students should also check to see if the school is accredited. Massage therapy courses include Swedish massage, anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, baby and pregnancy massage, magnetic therapy, sports massage and reflexology.
