Massage therapy schools in Nebraska offer two year programs that lead to an associate’s degree with a specialty in massage therapy. Students train for approximately 500 hours of classroom and hands-on training in the massage therapy program. Most of the satisfactory credit requires experience out of the classroom honing massage techniques and skills. Courses allow students to learn the history of massage as well as the ethics that are required of this field. Students are required to learn both CPR and first aid, receiving a certification in both. Students are also required to learn how to assess patients and select the best style of massage treatment for the individual.
