Massage therapy schools in Ontario offer two-year associate’s degree options. The program is typically 500 hours of classroom work that can be completed in one year, but it takes students an additional year to complete all of the required classes. Courses required of the massage therapy major include the introduction to massage, anatomy and physiology, athletic injuries, professional practices in massage, Swedish massage, Shiatsu, kinesiology, and pathology. Most Ontario schools require CPR training aside from massage classes and in some instances require first aid.
