Professional Massage Therapist

Diploma Program: nine months for the day program, twelve months for the evening program.

This program provides the instruction and expertise needed to become a skilled professional in massage therapy. Hands-on practice sessions for students in therapeutic massage complement scientific education in the areas of anatomy and physiology. In this program, students will learn variety of skills in a classroom and hands-on in a typical clinical setting. Business principles, infection control and client/practitioner relationship are also covered in the program. In addition, training in the medical field including CPR and First Aid are provided.

Employment Training Objectives:

Massage Therapists graduates will be fully trained to work closely with physicians, chiropractors and physical therapists or independently in private practice, health spas, fitness centers, resorts, and cruise ships.

Students are trained in a variety of different massage techniques, including Swedish massage, stone therapy, aromatherapy, Chinese medicine, sports massage, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, reiki, infant massage, and reflexology.

Each instructor will bring expertise in a particular field or modality to the program and shares this knowledge with our students. Our teachers tutor pupils in all of the courses, as needed. Students are present at community health fairs and provide complimentary massages which demonstrate their skills. The course work consists of Pathology, Therapeutic Massage, Business Principles, Allied Modalities, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and CPR.

The students will also have externship in spa settings, chiropractors' offices, and in clinics to mold them to work as Professional Massage Therapist.
