Florida Career College
Since 1982, Florida Career College has been providing students with relevant, marketable job skills. It now has expanded to have campuses in Hialeah, Lauderdale Lakes, Miami, Pembroke Pines and West Palm Beach in South Florida. Plus two in Tampa/St. Pete locations in Brandon and Clearwater that were EduTech centers until 2007 when they were acquired and renamed Florida Career College.
Florida Commission for Independent Education has awarded collegiate status to Florida Career College. The Allied Health Medical Programs curriculum has been accredited by The Commission for Independent Education.
The Diploma Program in Massage Therapy consists of 37 credits and takes 9 months to complete.
Within the field of natural health care, therapeutic massage is a fast-growing area. The Massage Therapist can decide to work in spas, physicians offices, chiropractic centers, and several different other places. Students will learn the various fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, massage techniques, modalities, pathology, joint movement, and a lot more.
Program Objectives
Graduates will possess a working knowledge of the theory and practice of massage which will include elements of Spa Therapy, Swedish Massage, Hydrotherapy and Asian Bodywork. The program is far more wide-reaching than just teaching massage skills. Students will also be taught not just the legal and ethical aspects of massage therapy, but also provided the skills needed for employment as well as human relation skills, health and safety practices, and CPR.
