Clayton College of Natural Health
Doctor of Naturopathy
Participants who successfully obtain a degree in this program often deploy their knowledge as a basis for successful traditional naturopathic consulting practices. The following topics are covered in this program: Body movement, arthritis, effect of diet on health, manual therapies, history and philosophy of traditional naturopathy, detoxification, iridology and three other electives. Courses that lay special emphasis on business and practical capabilities conclude the program, which is followed by consulting practical experience, during which the participant gains exposure from one-on-one interactions with people. These parts of the program are essential to those who will seek employment as a naturopath.
Admission requirements - Completion of a bachelors degree program is considered as the necessary prerequisites of the course.
Doctor of Philosophy in Traditional Naturopathy
The curriculum has been developed to follow one of two doctoral paths - Master of Science in Natural Health or Master of Arts in Holistic Wellness; focusing on key aspects of traditional naturopathy: wholesome nutrition, unadulterated air and water, sunlight, exercise and relaxation. Also, the curriculum also consists of history and theoretical knowledge pertaining to traditional naturopathy and detoxification. Candidates must opt for an elective which falls under herbology or science, as well as pick three general elective courses. Students must complete a dissertation for the Doctor of Philosophy program. There are some specific classes that will help a student while they undertake their dissertation.
CCNH has produced many students who now work as successful natural health consultants. It is not a requirement for the doctoral program. Students have the option of including several practitioner oriented courses and the practicum as their optional subjects and/or take up these courses while studying for the program.
