Nursing programs in Florida provide students the training needed to become a licensed registered nurse (RN). Programs offer two-year associate’s, four-year bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Competition for admission to nursing programs in Florida is keen as the major is very popular and space is limited. Admission criteria are typically a combination of grade point average, completion of specific science courses, supplemental tests, and applicant interviews. Students who are admitted to a nursing program can expect to spend several hours in a learning lab and in actual medical facilities. In addition to completing courses students must also complete clinical hours in a facility to graduate.
