Certified Nursing Assistant

Graduates from this certificate program have the tools needed to neutrally observe, record and report appropriate information to different medical group members in order to offer individual treatment and comfort. Being directly supervised and guided by a licensed nurse in home health care, medical or rehabilitation, the students graduating with a certified nursing assistant degree are ready to embark upon their choice of careers, such as Home Health Aide, Restorative Aide or Nursing Assistant.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to gain certification by passing the CNA Examination, which will be administered by Experior Testing Services for the Arizona State Board of Nursing.

Externships

Externships are included at sites approved by Tucson College after the students have finished their necessary coursework. Externships allow a student an actual work environment in which to apply skills learned in the classroom.
