Medical Claims and Billing Diploma Program

Optimum Completion Time: 4 terms or 40 academic weeks

Graduates of the Medical Claims and Billing Specialist Diploma Program can be prepared to seek positions of employment in such areas as physician's coding, healthcare claims processing, and medical insurance in the optimum completion time for the program of 4 terms or 40 academic weeks. The coursework includes a basic level in medical administration skills with a comprehensive understanding of current computer terms, and a solid groundwork in accounting procedures. Students will develop a working knowledge of many of the basics of the healthcare system, including medical records, costs of treatment, terms and conditions of insurance, and privileges and obligations of the patient and insurance company.
