The College has obtained state approval for training veterans or war orphans. For more information, contact the VA office where your records are held.

Southwest Florida College admits anyone possessing a high school diploma or the equivalent as certified by their respective state departments of education. Massage Therapy Schools

Massage Therapy – Diploma Program

Those individuals that enroll into the Massage Therapy program can expect to graduate fully capable of obtaining an entry-level position as a Massage Therapist. Students will be ready to work in healthcare or resort/spa environments after gaining the skills necessary to allow them to successfully work in the health care community. Learning the human body’s structure and function complements the provided therapeutic massage instruction. Students will receive training in massage theory, hydrotherapy, anatomy and physiology, HIV prevention, and allied modalities and the prevention of medical errors.

The program readies the students for a beginning level position as a Massage Therapist and/or Massage Facility Manager. Students will gain the skills necessary to work in the health care community and also will be groomed for employment in a healthcare or resort/spa situation. The students, through this program, are made to own, manage and run a massage facility.

A six-credit, non-paid externship as a surgical technician is a graduation requirement for this program.

The Medical Billing and Coding Program at Southwest Florida College is a comprehensive program designed to equip you with the necessary training for a position as medical records coder or another suitable opportunity in medical insurance billing divisions in hospitals, medical facilities, private insurance billing companies, and other medical support services.

Southwest Florida College's Medical Billing and Coding program is designed to provide necessary training to prepare you as a medical records coder or help you to get employment in medical insurance billing department within hospitals, medical facilities, private insurance billing firms, and other medical support service organizations. Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding from Southwest Florida College can be completed in less than two years of study. This degree focuses on fundamental medical courses, such as anatomy, medical terminology, and specialized courses like ICD-9-CM coding and pharmacology. This degree will focus on specialized courses like ICD-9-CM coding and pharmacology as well as fundamental medical courses such as anatomy and medical terminology. Our Medical Billing and Coding diploma program is offered at both our Fort Myers and Tampa campus locations, and of course you can take advantage of our online programs, for your convenience.
