Texas Careers is a higher education institution that empowers students to develop and to achieve their personal and career potentials, by offering quality programs that integrate general education, professional skills, and career-focused education.

In 1989, Modencare was founded in San Antonio, Texas, and began offering a certified nurse aid program. Later, the school was renamed to Texas Careers. To provide education in medically related careers, was the reason Texas Careers was originally organized. As time has gone by, the school has not only expanded its offerings in the health care program, but it has also made available additional fields of study.

Texas Careers has established branch campuses in locations like Laredo in April 1999, Beaumont in October 2000, and Lubbock in October 2003. In January 2002, Texas Educational Ventures LLP, an organization that is owned by Quest Education Corporation, took control of Texas Careers. Within a few months, Quest underwent a name change to become KHE - Kaplan Higher Education. Kaplan is devoted to continuing to offer high quality education for which Texas Careers is well known.

Patient Care Assistant/Technician Diploma

Texas Careers' Patient Care Assistant/Technician Diploma goes beyond the ordinary role of a nursing assistant, cross-training you for employment as a Patient Care Technician (PCT).

The program provides an solid knowledge base and job skills, while also providing additional training if you have worked in or are currently working as a: Health Care Technician, Home Health Aide, Patient Care Assistant, Nursing Aide and Orderly, Home health Aide, Phlebotomist, Electrocardiograph Aide, or Allied Health Assistant.

Patient Care Assistant/Technician Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Assistant/Technician, you will be assisting with the care of patients who might suffer from a range of diseases, are injured, or suffering from neurological or orthopedic problems. You might have to assist patients as they walk to therapy using a gait belt, prepare materials and equipment used in patient treatment, or assist with community activities, and much more.

Dental Assitant: Diploma
