These graduates of nursing are competent in the safety and care of their patients in a wide range of environments, such as long term care facilities, hospices, home health care servicing companies, hospitals, schools and adult cay care.

UC Raymond Walters College (UCRWC)'s two-year associate of applied science degree program in nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and has received the approval of the Ohio Board of Nursing. Graduating students will be able to take the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses.

A candidate is asked to indicate whether or not he or she has ever been convicted of a felony or other crimes, while submitting the application for licensure. If the applicant has a yes answer to this particular question then their chances for licensing may be halted. To apply for licensure in Ohio, a criminal background check is necessary.

Many students decide to continue their education with a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree upon graduation. Clinical Laboratory Science Program: Bachelor of Science

What is the CLS Program?

The mission of clinical laboratory scientists is to team with other health professions to improve patient health and disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment through various laboratory procedures. Some of the analyses which the clinical laboratory scientists perform are procedures of chemistry, hematology, toxicology, blook banking, microbiology, immunology and molecular procedures. Laboratory scientists become proficient with both manual and automated procedures and then analyze and transmit patient data by using special laboratory computer systems. Clinical Laboratory Scientists have another responsibility for the procedures around quality control and quality assurance in the lab. This Clinical Laboratory Scientist education uses not only a familiar and common curriculum of undergraduate majors in medical field, but also a clinical program and is specifically designed to turn out individuals who are highly efficient technically.

Program Overview

Organization and Facilities Provided

The Clinical Laboratory Science Program is just one of many allied health programs offered by the College of Allied Health Sciences. The college is located at the University of Cincinnati, in the French East Building on the Medical Center campus. The French East Building is located next to the College of Medicine, Health Sciences Library and the University Hospital. The French East Building has been newly remodeled and is home to state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, computer laboratories and a new WI-FI network that covers the entire building.
