Vanderbilt University - Online
Vanderbilt University was created in 1873 by Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, who seeded it with one million dollars to get it started. During Vanderbilt's first 40 years, the school was headed by Methodist Episcopal Church leaders.
Vanderbilt University offers many online degrees, including Master of Science in Nursing and Health Supervision. Vanderbilt University's department of nursing spans many decades, from its inception in 1909, through its present-day distance program in learning. The nursing school has been granted accreditation by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
Students do not have to leave their current job in order to earn a degree in nursing because the degree curriculum is fully Internet-based. The program is flexible enough to accommodate busy working students and nurses. Because learning is asynchronous, the student is not constrained by scheduled class times.
The health care environment now is always changing, and VUSN's program is designed to train and educate health care professionals to be effective, whatever the situation. This education and training is applied to daily operations so that the students become better leaders and managers. Pupils gain mastery in business and communication skills as well as clinical expertise.
They also learn about negotiation, organizational theory, and personnel management. After just two years of part-time study, students can complete the degree and transition into the professional role of health care manager, with many subsequent opportunities for advancement into leadership positions in health care.
To help the online student, Student Services provides technical support, professional services, registration and academic advising, and financial aid advising support. 24/7 technical support is available to students needing assistance.
