The Vet Tech Institute is for pet lovers. Perhaps it's their goofy personalities, or their loving eyes, but we can't help adoring animals. What about you?

It can take as little as 16 months to become qualified to work as a veterinary technician.

Here at Vet Tech Institute, we have as much love for our students are our animals. Our full commitment is to our students' success both in school and after graduation.

Veterinary technicians help care for all different animals from assisting in surgeries to monitoring sick of injured animals. While being supervised by a veterinarian, veterinary technicians take care of many things.

The tasks involved include: collection and analyzation of test specimens, taking x-rays to find problems, administering anesthesia, helping during surgery, giving injections and inserting IVs.

Upon completion of the program, you will know how to administer anesthesia and handle and restrain various types of animals, and will be familiar with office procedures, sterilization procedures, radiology, pharmacology and other procedures.

You will get much real-world experience from the externship in your last semester.

The Veterinary Technician program has received accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) as an educational program for veterinary technicians.
